i need some clarification of exactly what triggers a google alert. i have three theories. one, it’s triggered when the alert terms appear in anything published. two, it’s triggered when the alert terms appear in someone’s search terms. three, it’s triggered when the alert terms occur in a document which is a result for any search. or maybe it’s something else. i get a confusing and contradictory impression from what i’ve read so far about it. i think that to get maximum effectiveness and quickest mastery of this tool one needs to know exactly what it is.

You are right about blogs having changed the internet. Blogs provide a different dimension of space and time.For instance, Instead of waiting for your article for publication, you can blog about the article in your mind and people will have access to it immediately.

Blogs also function as a source of income. You won’t get rich from keeping a blog but you’ll earn money for jam initially. If you go farther though and learn from the internet gurus, you may even reach a point when you will be able to leave your 9 to 5 job and earn from your blogs like what I learn from bloggers who shift full time to blogging as a source of income. It’s not a rich quick venture but you can earn from blogging.
