MyBlogLog

Are you familar with website tracking? If so, then you may be interested in what posts people find the most interesting. MyBlogLog enables you to track that last little bit of information about your website. If you have a blog or any other site where you frequently post new content on the main page, you don't have a good way of tracking what people find interesting. One way is to track when people click on the links you provide. MyBlogLog makes the process of tracking your visitors easy.

Why do you need to know what people find interesting on your site? If you are trying to increase website traffic or trying to get your visitors to return you can use it to tune your content to be even more compelling for your readers. You can also use MyBlogLog to determine which stories you should follow up on. Even if you don't do anything with it, it's a great way to find out what people find interesting.

Nielsen gets stranglehold on the blogosphere.

Nielsen, best known for their TV ratings and surveys has entered a new arena according to David Utter at WebProNews.

They did so David reports by acquiring a majority stake of the BlogPulse publisher Intelliseek, and plugging that data into Buzzmetrics and dubbing it Nielsen Buzzmetrics.

Blogs have many readers and influence. Now how many readers a blog has can be determined by assessing their traffic and how many sites link to them. Those actions indicate how authoritative a blog and blogger are perceived.

What the ramifications are to the blogosphere are yet to be totally seen but anytime one company, in this case
Nielsen has so much control that whoever controls the data controls the marketplace, i.e. the BIG ad dollars. Whoever measures the audience controls everything, as the business of media is about audience. Nielsen has had the monopoly on the broadcast market for decades, and now they've begun a stranglehold on the blogosphere.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think this will be good for the blogosphere or a bad thing? Or a mixed bag?

Blogging Pro is a blog containing several resources for bloggers.

As with Blog Smart Resources, Blogging Pro has links to books about blogging. It also has categories such as Blogger News, Blogger Tools, Blogging News, Blogging Sense, Blogging Tools, Blogging: How To, BloggingPro News, General, Movable Type News, Movable Type Tools, Press Releases, QuickLinks, WordPress Hacks , WordPress News , WordPress Plugins , WordPress Themes , WordPress Tips

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best I would only give this website about a 7.5 because of design and color combinations. Aesthetics aside, there are also several posts at the site which only someone who really wants to read and learn about the technology behind blogs and specific blogging platforms would be interested.

I would encourage you however still to check it out because it may give you some ideas that you can currently use to improve the readership of your current blog or blogs. Just go to

The post is at http://www.blogsmart-resources.com/2006/01/paid-blogging-assignments.html and if you are interested in blogging and getting paid to do so I encourage you to visit and read the original post.

The RSS Blog

I wasn't originally going to post anything here today at the Blog Smart Resources Blog however as I was looking for blogs about blogs, business blogging, blogging technology and blogging in general I came across an interesting blog titled The RSS Blog.

It isn't the prettiest looking blog that I have seen in my surfing but it has quite a bit of information if you are looking to learn about RSS and its many applications.

You can find the RSS Blog at http://www.kbcafe.com/rss/

There are several great clips and articles there and I am planning on going back and reading more of them. I encourage you to do the same. Some of the posts are not only educational but entertaining.
