Pingoat is a new service for pinging several blog directories and rss feeds

Blog Explosion recently added the new service of being able to ping several blog directories and some rss feeds simultaneously.

To do this they are using a script known as Pingoat written by Kailash Nadh, the site owner of Pingoat.com and a recent high school graduate from Kerala, India. I would like to add a similar service to Blog Smart Resources but don't know where I can get a script.

I am going to email Kailash and see what he says. An excellent blog I found about using blogs for business purposes is called Business Blog Consulting . It offers a post containing more information about
Pingoat.

Trackback URL for their post about Pingoat is

According to Chatterbean I am a blog guru

I am a blog guru according to a recent quiz that I took. This is basically one of those take this just for fun sites.

Here is the definition of a blog guru:

Blogs are nothing new to you – you've weathered your share of blogstorms and maybe even started a couple yourself. You may remember reading "weblogs" in 1997, when Jorn Barger started "logging the web" in Robot Wisdom. Since then, the "blogosphere," the total of blog-related websites, has exploded. As a blog guru, you've probably encountered blog novelties out such as the milblog, a soldier's military chronicle. "Dark blogs" are no mystery to you either – you might even be a member of these hidden, invitation-only websites.

Chatterbean.com offers a short quiz to determine your blog IQ. To start the quiz and determine your blog IQ just go to http://www.chatterbean.com/blogiq/index.php

Another great blog resource for indexing is Technorati

is one of a few blog indexes which allow you to add keywords to your blog.

Indexing more than a million weblogs, also has a beta version of a blog keyword search. Their subscription-based 'Watchlist' service could be very useful to bloggers and commercial site owners alike. The "cosmos" feature is useful for seeing who is linking to who.

Find where a certain blog is located at geographically

A site that I find to be very interesting is this one where you can find the geography of where a blog is located. Although a blog may be anywhere in the world you can find out who within 500 miles of your location is blogging. You can also add your blog to this site so that it is listed. I hope that you also find this site interesting. The description is as follows:

Click on a world map and get links to blogs (and strangely enough, restaurants) within a 500 mile radius. The list of 7000 cities is helpful for the geographically-challenged. Multiple listings and commercial spamming appear to be having an adverse effect on the usefulness of this extremely interesting application.
